TRAVEL INSURANCE COVERAGE AS A RESULT OF HUMAN SWINE INFLUENZA
Those who bought travel insurance from RBC Insurance can be assured that any trip cancellation fees or penalties resulting from changing travel plans due to the Human Swine Influenza are covered.
Coverage is available for those that purchased an RBC Insurance travel insurance policy prior to April 28, 2009, the date that the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade issued a travel warning to Canadians for non-essential travel to Mexico.
Clients who booked a trip to Mexico prior to the warning being issued, are eligible for coverage – including trip cancellation coverage – under their RBC policy. They are currently accepting travel cancellation claims for departures to Mexico up to and including May 31, 2009.
If you purchased a RBC Insurance package and want more information about the coverage options you can reach the RBC Insurance Claims department at 1-800-263-8900.
Those who booked prior to the warning and still wish to travel will still be qualified for coverage under their RBC policy.
